As well as keeping an intense concert activity, they have always been interested in pedagogic programs, teaching and spreading the music throughout people from all ages.
Teaching
They have been teaching at Conservatorio Superior de Música de Canarias as piano professors since 2003. Besides of giving lessons to advanced piano students, they have taught other specialties such as chamber music and complementary piano.
Some of their students have been awarded in several chamber music competitions and have performed in different concert halls throughout Spain. Moreover they have lectured and given piano master classes in the Canary Islands.
Educational concerts
In the educational field they have also directed and participated in several educational concerts. “The Carnival of the Animals”, by the French composer Saint Saens, was their first educational concert, performing for four hands and including comments from the stage by themselves. This show was watched by adults and children.
Then, they started a deep activity of educational concerts working under the command of Arval Productions. As the result, they got a great success performing the works “Los Pianos Locos”, which they were the main characters as actors and piano performers. This educational concert was held in Alfredo Kraus Auditorium during some days and more than 4.000 students came from primary schools in Gran Canaria watched it. This spectacle had an important media impact, appearing on the front page of the regional newspapers.
Afterwards they began working on their best know educational concert: a new project called “Mozart against Mozart”. The show was performed in more than 20 concerts in the Canary Islands and Duo Curbelo played the main characters. The plot is about two brilliant musicians, both called Mozart. They are similar to their physical appearance but different from their personality. The concerts had a huge success and entertained to more than 7500 children and adults.
They have also played other shows under the direction of Arval Production entitled “El Violín Serafín” and “El País de la Música”. Both shows have been celebrated in different concert halls in Gran Canaria.
